Seattle Ink get together

Seattle Ink get together

2002-02-18 by sdmey4@aol.com

A couple weeks back there where a few of you interested in meeting in Seattle
to show prints, look at workflows etc. Tyler Boley has generously offered
His studio space for our use on a weekend. Bellingham Portland? are you still
interested?
As soon as we get 5 or 6 we will book it according to Tylers schedule. First
week of March? Weekend afternoon?
Lets see who is interested first then we will plan a meeting. If you know a
particular weekend is bad than let me know.
E-mail me privately if you like.

Steven -- Could you please put me on the list of people interested in
attending the Seattle get-together? I don't use B&W inks yet (have
some MIS VM that I haven't got going yet) and really I'm barely a
photographer, but I enjoy reading the list and am looking forward to
toying with the MIS inks.

The first time I saw digital prints with b&w ink was actually two
weeks ago at the opening of your exhibit at the Photographic Center
Northwest. Very beautiful and impressive work.

Bellingham here.
I was wondering what happened to the Seattle
gathering. And yes I'm still interested. Most any
weekend in March would work for me, with the last
(23/24th) being my least favorite. I'll bring a
set of exchange prints so you can see what people
from all over are doing.
Also, Steven, is your show still up at the
Photographic Center?(that is your show isn't it?)
We're going to be in Seattle gallery hopping this
weekend. I'd like to try and get up there to see
it.

Steven,
I guess it really is a small planet. Yes, I know
Kenny. (his last name is spelled Osthimer, BTW)
and he is the local platinum guru. I'm actually
working on a project for him. I'm ever soooo
sloooowly teaching myself to make enlarged
digital negs for his platinum printing. He wasn't
happy with his wet process enlarged negs, so he
made an 11x14 adapter for his 8x10 camera. He's
now working on, I believe, an 8x20. I need to
hurry up and make him some negs if only to save
him from himself. So, I'd be real interested in
seeing your Lens Work print. Maybe I'll bring my
one feeble attempt down for "Show and Tell".
Yes, the exchange includes several VM prints
using Paul's curves. Paul included a sample of
his new sepia mix. Very intriguing.
The 9th or the 10th works for me. There might be
a couple more people from up here interested in
coming down as well. I hope there's enough
interest to make it worth your while to put this
together.
