Maybe you missed the diskussion about "MIS Inks and Piezo driver" some days ago, which was initialized by Martin after having read the hint on the MIS Web site. Occasionly I had tried this combo just that day, so I could tell some first impressions in Msg 860. Perhaps you like to read it again. I myself find it very hard to follow this MIS diskussion, because actually we are talking at least about 3 (to 4) MIS inksets: MIS Original Quad (multiple workflows) MIS Full Spectrum (J. Woolf workflow or Piezo Driver by J. Cone) MIS Variable Mix (a) 4 inks, (b) 6 inks: (Paul Roark workflow) Sometimes its hard to figure out what people are talking about, if they only refer to MIS inks. So I second Martins proposal a lot to indicate in the thread-header, which "inkflow" erverybody is talking about. Greetings to Spain, hope the sun shines brightly. Bernd PS: could anybody please tell the difference between the terms "continous tone" and "full spectrum".... ; - ) B.

Bernd, Ah yes the joys of the English language. "Continuous tone" simply means that tone progresses from light to dark without any breaks or abrupt changes in tone. Silver, color, inkjet, lithographic prints are all continuous tone or simulate it. Silkscreen or woodblock prints would not be continuous tone. "Full Spectrum" as being used by MIS is a marketing phrase meant to imply that all the tones are present or represented by their ink set. It suggests a wide range. Technically full spectrum would mean light at all wavelengths and would more accurately be used to describe color rather than monochrome. Best to just look at it as a trade name and ignore the literal meaning of the words. There are some subtleties to the phrase that are not easily described here. Martin
