Printer Choice for Project

2010-02-04 by William

Hi all,

I'm going to print a run of fine art greeting cards and I'd like to get some opinions on what printer to purchase.

My 2400 is starting to exhibit some grinding noises (oddly, just like my 2200 before it) and I don't think it is long for the world. So, I'm going to keep it for larger prints till it dies. It isn't feeding thick paper well, so I'm afraid of it chewing up the greeting cards... I'll be using a combination of Museo Artist Cards and Red River's Premium Matte cards.

So I'm thinking I might get a C88+ and one of MIS' pre-filled CFS systems with EZN inks. Does anyone have any other suggestions? I'm just concerned with the ability of the printer to feed the card stock with minimum of problems.

Thanks!

Jon

C88+ works OK with MIS 13.5 but be aware it is not supported in QTR, check QTR site if interested.
