Doepfer

Sorry that I jump in here a littlebit without a cause, but I have to 
tell it somebody...

Since two days I have a Doepfer ribbon controller and I am overwhelmed. 
This opened really new doors in playing a synthesizer! I slept only two 
hours this night, because I played on and on and on. Quite simple 
sounds, which are not very interesting played by a keyboard or a 
sequencer, become vivid and exciting if played with the ribbon 
controller. Soundwise it is often something between the microtonalities 
of a string instrument (I own the violoncello from my father and try 
playing it from time to time - not that I really could play Beethoven, 
but after the first two weeks as absolute beginner, the dog stopped 
running away at least ;-)) and the expression possibilities of a brass 
instrument (wich I cannot play). This piece is really great. And by the 
way it feels as if it made bombproof - I am looking already forward 
using it on stage!

I really recommend trying it at least one time at a Doepfer dealer if 
you have the chance to do so (and leave your money pouch at a safe 
place, because you immidiately want to buy one...).
