let's assume that you use an a147 as lfo and
an a138a linear mixer (the latest revision).
the sinewave has a varying amplitude of -5/+5 volts.
feed this sinewave into input 2 of the a138a and
set the attenuator for input 2 to 12 o'clock position.
this reduces the lfo amplitude to -2.5/+2.5 volts.
now set the attenuator for input 1 also to 12 o'clock
position, without inserting a cable into input 1.
this will add +2.5 volts offset to the mix.
the result at the mixer output is a sinewave with
  an amplitude of 0/+5 volts.

  best wishes

  ingo

first input does that mean I can effectively control the output so it
can't go over 5v or under 0v?? somehow my brain and the description
in the pdf are not connecting.
