Hi all! just found out about this list. I had a nice doepfer system
couple of years ago but sold it when the nord modular concept came ,,
using the g2 now but still miss the analog bits (?) and pieces ,,
filters and so on , so decided to go for a doepfer (mostly) system
again ,, I am also looking for a couple of modules , if this is the
place for buy and sell ?

offset

2006-05-22 by Richard

Hi

I want to attentuate and offset an LFO output so I can send it to a +5v destinarion (alesis andremeda pedal input) is there a doepfer module which can do this elegantly/cheaply?

hello richard,
the cheaper of the 3 solutions( a129/3, a138c, a167)
is the a138c polarizing mixer. it gives you a -5 to +5
volts offset source at input1 and you still have 3
inputs to attenuate doepfer signals and mix them(and
invert them if you like too!) before sending them to
the andromeda. it costs 50 euros.
regards,
Bakis.

hello richard,

you can do this with the a138 mixer modules,
which were manufactured after april 2004.

or you can use an a129/3.

best wishes

Usually Bakis, the list maintainer, should answer here, but since he
didn't I'll jmp in: Welcome back (what was that story in the bible about
the lost son... ;-)). Of course you may look for modules or offer
modules here, as long as these are for your personal usage.

Re: offset

2006-05-23 by selfoscillate

let's assume that you use an a147 as lfo and
an a138a linear mixer (the latest revision).
the sinewave has a varying amplitude of -5/+5 volts.
feed this sinewave into input 2 of the a138a and
set the attenuator for input 2 to 12 o'clock position.
this reduces the lfo amplitude to -2.5/+2.5 volts.
now set the attenuator for input 1 also to 12 o'clock
position, without inserting a cable into input 1.
this will add +2.5 volts offset to the mix.
the result at the mixer output is a sinewave with
an amplitude of 0/+5 volts.

best wishes

thanks guys

I don't quite get what a138 does. If I don't plug anything into the first input does that mean I can effectively control the output so it can't go over 5v or under 0v?? somehow my brain and the description in the pdf are not connecting.

Re: [Doepfer_a100] Re: offset

2006-05-23 by Bakis Sirros

hello richard,
if you do not connect anything on input 1, then the
input1 knob acts as a cv /offset source. that means:
it adds to the other 3 inputs an offset of 5 volts (or
- to +5 volts, if the a138c is the case). so , then,
the mixer outputs the sum of the 3 input signals(from
inputs 2,3,4) and the 5volts cv offset.
regards,
Bakis.
