Hi, I could solve the problem by an ugly trick (this is a "don't do this at home" description): First I removed the EPROM and switched the MS-404 on and after some seconds switched it off again. I replugged the EPROM and tried the MS-4040, but the action hadn't changed anything. Then I removed the EPROM again, switched the MS-404 on and pressed my fingers on the soldering side of the pcb on the pins of the processor. The fingers seem to act like a pulldown resistor. At least the internal RAM of the processor seems to have been resetted by this action. Now the learn mode accepted Program changes again and I could set the assignmode to last note again. Nevertheless it seems, that the processor of the MIDI-interface MS-404 reacted wrong on some MIDI messages from Logic while the interface was in the bootup phase.
