thanks for your response!
the noise comes from the delay clock knob when it is positioned between 1-3 (long delay 
times). i believe that is the same noise we're talking about. but the variable high pitch 
noise stays if i reduce the feedback or do anything other than change the polarity on the 
very bottom switch.
