I'd rather have a built in tracking filter, and > if I wanted to be annoyed I'd just mix the clock output on the panel > into the signal. ok, if the clock noise is always annoying to you, then a different design would indeed be better for you, but maybe you should see it in a different light. even the "most expensive" doepfer-combination of a188/1d and a108 is cheaper than most bbd-modules with built-in filters, and as an extra you can use the external filter for other purposes too, if you don't use the bbd.
