Lots of things. With the 149.2, any time you want some thing or event to happen randomly. I often plug various 149.2 outputs into different inputs on the A-154 sequencer controller to cause the sequencer to randomly reset, go in reverse, change first and lasr notes, etc. You could also scale the output and mix it with a CV going to a VCO to cause it to transpose at random times, or to a VCF to cause it to open more at random times. It sounds like you are thinking of using 149.2 as a random 8 level control voltage source, which is something I've never thought of. Now that you've brought it up, I'll have to give it a try.
