Mixing Doepfer is something I have thought quite a bit about, but still not made reality. I know that doepfer modules can be fitted in the AS-rack but it is like a 98% fit so it cosmetically will not look perfect. On the other hand AS can't be fitted into the Doepfer rack as far as I know. Guess it can if you are a circuit master, but Doepfer makes not kits or converter cables, right guys? As for midi-cv modules the AS seems better in all aspects except beeing slightly bigger in size. I will go that route myself soon and buy an AS case for midi-cv and something more... As far as doepfer goes there are some must haves in the A136 and A129/3. the a136 is very cool and something I haven't seen anywhere. I totally adds a new flavour to the sounds. The A129/3 is a very hand module to tweak cv signals to the right amount. Yes it cost some but you get five separate channels. As for VCOs a lot can be said and I plainly state that neither of doepfers VCOs are perfect, the A110 tracks badly and the A111 has imperfect square I have heard. As for the AS I have no clue. This is actually a bit of blasphemy but as things are today I myself would very carefully look into VA if I was going modular from scratch again. ----- Original Message ----- From: "electricbeats_eof" <electricbeats@gmx.net> To: <Doepfer_a100@yahoogroups.com> Sent: Thursday, March 21, 2002 1:31 PM Subject: [Doepfer_a100] Hi group ! > I've looked through the various yahoo groups forums and this > seems to be the place to be when you are going modular. > My plans: > I'd like to get a modular synth to use in my home recording > environment and so I've been looking around and at this year's > musikmesse I walked by the great superbooth and had the time > to listen to the doepfer as well as the technosaurus and the > analogue solutions... > In terms of money the technosaurus is out of question, leaves > the choice between the doepfer and the A/So.
