Dave I'm sorry, I thought that I was the one being contrarian - a general personality trait of mine. I certainly didn't intend to insult anyone's modular system. These are very personal biases on all of our parts. I was stating an opinion, realizing that others will disagree with it. When I was posting, I specifically thought about your system, But, you know, if I remember correctly, it was the only photo of mixed modules in a single frame, which is why I worded the statement that I did. You have a very cool module configuration. The issue of different overall system "design" is indeed very subtle, perhaps it only exists in my mind. I wouldn't go so far as to characterize it as "incompatibility". I was thinking along the lines of certain A100 modules which seem to be lacking a jack or a knob or a function, but that's because Doepfer tends to leave things out under the assumption that you'll fill in the gap with a utility module. So the A100 is more "distributed" than some other modulars, you need things like lots of linear mixers and a CV source and a voltage inverter in your frame to make it go. Somer people find this frustrating, I consider it the "A100 way". Maybe it's a stretch to suggest that this would affect a mixed module system significantly, but it might.
