OK. I don't know too much about the real world limitations... I 
discovered the clipping only recently, when mixing some percussive 
sounds. It took me a while to understand, what was wrong with the 
sound. Would a clipping led make sense?

That is a pity. Personally I think there is a lot of potential for 
both audio and CV (quadrature pulse divider) use.

That would be useful. I would prefer an octave swithch in my 
controllers, but as it is not there, a workaround is needed.

That makes sense, but of course two A-118:s take 16HP instead of 4HP. 
Personally, with A-118 I tend to use only white noise, 100% "Blue" 
noise and 100% "Red" noise. "Random Output" is mostly unused, as I 
don't like its character. That is why I would prefer a dual unit with 
reduced features.

I don't have either of those modules, but in earlier thread someone 
wrote about A-136: It can do rectifying, but not very conveniently, 
as the knob settings need to very precise and the input signal needs 
to be attenuated (if I remember correctly). I am interested in 
recifying/clipping for both audio processing and CV limiting.

There are no the skewed triangle waves shown at the A-111-2 page. 
That is what I have in mind and I think it souds nice. Here is an 
example done with Nord Modular PC demo. Only static 6dB/octave 
filtering is used:
