Hello Dieter, Thank you for the prompt response. I agree that menu driven systems are a pain and not really workable. I only ask as my real estate is getting very limited now, unless I rack to the ceiling and get a box to stand on :o) Best wishes David David Salter Senior Consultant PSG Reuters Messaging: david.salter.reuters.com@reuters.net (t) +44 (0)20 7542 2402 | (m) 07990562402 | (f) 52699 Get the latest news at Reuters.com <http://www.reuters.com/> ________________________________ From: Doepfer_a100@yahoogroups.com [mailto:Doepfer_a100@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of hardware@doepfer.de Sent: 10 January 2008 10:26 To: Doepfer_a100@yahoogroups.com Subject: AW: [Doepfer_a100] First bit cruncher demos (A-189-1) > Out of interest have you any timelines for other uses of the AD/DA > module? Also will it be possible to have a multifunction module or will > I need to get one of each type? > > Rgds > > David So far there is no timeline for other derivates of the AD/DA prototype. We think about a digital, sampled ring modulator and a clocked version of the A-189-1 (i.e. an external clock input for the sampling rate instead of the CV). But maybe we can find a way to include all these functions into the A-189-1 (e.g. one of the 16 modes is digital RM and an additional switch that switches the SR socket between CV and clock function). In general we tend to release several modules. It is impossible to use the same controls and in/outputs for all functions we are about to plan. And I personally hate these devices with tons of menus and submenus and subsubmenus and endless parameter adjustments where you never know where you are and what are the current settings. I prefer a simple manageable control surface with direct access to as many parameters as possible. And it would take probably years until such a multifunctional universal device would be ready.
