i would nevertheless be interested to hear from anyone who knows a midi to cv interface that can allocate, say, four voices. florian, i kind of half agree with you. to make your most interesting patches polyphonic would cost a fortune. but that's ignoring the cheapo and/or lofi sounds that are waiting to be discovered by someone daft enough to put the time in. if we could hypothetically start with a three voice synth (and i dare say that's enough for many of us :-)) we could have: mfb triple oscillator 3x a120 vcf a143-2 quad adsr 2x a132 dual vca a145 lfo a138 mixer and a few multiples doubtless i've forgotten something, but we're still way off the price of a poly evolver. we have fewer possibilities, but different ones, (especially if we route everything back into everything else) and we've hopefully got a few quid left in the bank to start expanding it in our own personal individual ways. or replace the mfb with four a110's or whatever. if i had a suitable midi interface, i'd post something to hear. but i don't. voice allocation is simple with max/msp, but i'd still need four a190's. anyone know of anything? cheers, stu
