so far, i didn't have any problems interfacing my serge to any of the other modulars i have. indeed, serge working voltages range is +/-5volts, so it works fine with the doepfer, but as you would expect, in some instances, the output voltage of the doepfer modules will be partially unused from the serge cv inputs (due to the difference of range). but, i do not think that this causes any problem. just use cv attenuators... if you do not use attenuators, you will sometimes just have 'peaking' behaviour of the doepfer cv's when controling serge cv functions. anyway, the doepfer cv's are mostly up to 8 volts, IIRC, so there is not a big difference... regarding syncing triggers/gates and such they seem to work fine... although i still have to work with them in combi more months to really find out all aspects of their cross-compatibility. bottom line is: i think they'll work fine together. you just need LOTS of banana's to minijack converter panels (custom made for you). the reason is that you DO HAVE TO HAVE common ground between the serge and other (mini)jack modulars. minijack cables 'carry the ground with them' but banana's do not. so, you have to use a converter panel that is grounded to the serge psu when you convert from banana's to minijacks and vice-versa, to connect the serge to other jack modulars. this banana to minijack panel can be easily made by a tech for you. (and you can then mount it into your euro rack, but you have to connect the ground pin of the converter's minijacks to the ground of the euro rack internally) and the serge psu must be grounded to the eurorack psu. i hope i'm right in all these, i'm no tech... best regards, Bakis. --- Guy D2 <guy@guyd2.com> wrote: > > > Has anyone any experience with or ideas about the > wisdom of > > interfacing Doepfer modules with as Serge system ? > > > > 1.
