I think it works in theory. It might be hard to get the tracking exactly to scale though. I was just browsing the Doepfer site and found this planned module that is supposed to have a Hz/V to Oct/V converter function. Looks like a barrel of fun. http://www.doepfer.de/A100_ADDA.htm On 7/11/08, partlydrone <partlydrone@yahoo.com> wrote: > > > > > > > > Also, I think if you put a small fixed voltage into the "audio in" > in an > > > exponential VCA and then use the linear Hz/V CV to modify the > amplitude, and > > > set the CV attenuation right, then you will get the desired V/Oct > response. > > ooh do you think? an osc with linear fm in wouldnt help, because it's > not just osc control i'm after, i'm hoping to get vaguely keyboard > scaled control on my frequency shifter and my a112 pitch shifting / > sampler. > > if people reckon the hz/v keyboard controlling an exp vca solution is > the one then i'll do it. > > there's a korg ms-02 log amp schematic about but i just can't face > building something to do this, i think i'd give up and go with an ugly > v/oct controller. > > --- In Doepfer_a100@yahoogroups.com, "Monroe Eskew" <monroe.eskew@...> > wrote: > > > > or rather, large fixed V > > > > On Fri, Jul 11, 2008 at 7:27 PM, Monroe Eskew <monroe.eskew@...> > > wrote: > > > > > Also, I think if you put a small fixed voltage into the "audio in" > in an > > > exponential VCA and then use the linear Hz/V CV to modify the > amplitude, and > > > set the CV attenuation right, then you will get the desired V/Oct > response. > > > > > > > > > On Fri, Jul 11, 2008 at 7:06 PM, Monroe Eskew <monroe.eskew@...> > > > wrote: > > > > > >> The A111 has linear FM. > > >> > > >> > > >> On Fri, Jul 11, 2008 at 5:17 PM, partlydrone <partlydrone@...> > > >> wrote: > > >> > > >>> I have a lot of Hz/V gear - massive old paia modular and ms20 etc. > > >>> > > >>> Is it a really stupid idea to try and use my ms20 to control my > > >>> doepfer?
