Hi Peter and all the others, > I know this is going to quiver some lips here, but why would > anyone need an ANALOG delay when didgital delays are so > abundantly more functional? I own both (Sony D7, Korg SDD-1200, VestaFire on the digital side and a Dynacord VRS-23 with so called "Bucket Bridge Devices" as delay chips on the analogue side) and I have to admit I love(!) the sound of the Dynacord. I use the VRS-23 in every mix. It makes every sound warm and rich; similar to the unreached Roland Dimension-D. But: The Dynacord uses very advanced circuits. There is a Kompander, a Hi-Freq Adaption and a very sensitive tunable input circuit for the BBDs. A simple BBD Delay, that lacks all this effort, does sound like someone here described the corresponding AS-Module: "it sounds always like Adrian Belew". So the R+D Effort would be quite high. Also I fear, that it is quite uncertain whether BBDs will stay in production for a longer period - which is a NoGo-argument for every producer. And finally we have to see, that with the A-112 already provides the possibility of a digital delay. So I subscribe Peters view: > I would like to see Dieter's R+D effrots going into other areas > personally.
