From a business view, I'd go for the least common denominator. Make your modules compatible to existing systems as much as possible. And that includes making it not only electrically, but also VISUALLY compatible. Nobody's going to buy your modules because of piss-yellow panels and names like Anal Probe. They're going to by it because you make great products. However, I can see some potential customers being turned off with loud obnoxious colored panels in their Euro systems. That negative could very well affect buying decisions. On the other hand I really don't see people NOT buying you modules because it matches the rest of their system.
