Are you sure that you use stabilized 12V supplies. Unstabilized supplies
cause hum noise in audio generating and processing modules.

In general the low cost DIY kit 2 should be used not for high quality
applications as mentioned in the DIY kit 2 info. A very simple type of power
supply (two wall outlet supplies) is used in this kit.
