I just purchased my first oscillator without a wide range continuous tuning knob. (It has an octace switch and a fine tune of +/-6 semitones). I find this arrangement frustrating and unsuitable for my needs. In my opinion Plan B M15 has it right: Continuous Coarse tuning and Fine tuning. And importantly the fine tuning is only +/-1 semitone, which makes tuning actually precise and easy. Of course, if there is an *additional* octave switch, I don't mind, except that it takes some space. I would still propably rather use something like 185-2.
