Re: MAQ16/3 ANALOGUE SEQUENCER AS MASTER CLOCK SOURCE

2008-12-17 by Florian Anwander

Hi Oliver

> Thank you very much for you answer, actually i use Pro Tools as clock source nowadays, i set the tempo of my session and send the clock through one midi port to my hardware equipment. The annoying thing here is that, for example: if i program a drum sequence on my drum machine i can get a very nice groove out of it, with a really nice swing and feel, but if i set my drum machine clock as slave, receiving clock start and stop information, the drum machine plays back far more mechanical and loose all the swing.
Maybe the drum machine does not support the swing function with external
clock. Example given: the Jomox XBase09 does not support swing with
external clock. Also the old MPCs did its groove-feature only to with
internal clock and tape-sync but not to MIDI-clock.
