Allow me to repsectfully disagree on this. A module such as the Buchla Multiple Arbitrary Function Generator is one thing and I agree with you wholeheartedly, it will and should take time and a learning curve to unlock. A simple waveshaper however is a totally different story. One could and would expect instant gratification from such a device. My point was that I have heard many a waveshapers with the deeper level of modulation, and that has nothing to do with my understanding of synthesis and/or any catagory that may place me in!
