Hi Giles,

no idea about the hum, but the gate would normally go into an envelope generator.

Subject: [Doepfer_a100] two basic questions

Hi,

I just purchased my first modules and a rack used and I'm trying to
figure a couple of things out. I figured you guys could answer the
questions pretty easily.

1. The modules all seem to have a 60hz hum on output. It's low level,
but it's there. I haven't done much trouble shooting yet, Just tried a
different outlet. The fact that it's all modules that I tried, (2
mixers and a filter), makes me thing there might be a power supply
issue. Is there a way to confirm this with a basic multimeter?

2. I have a kenton Prosolo Midi to CV Converter. I can't figure out
where the gate should go. I have a Livewire AFG oscillator, and I
can't find a gate input anywhere on any of my modules. From what I
read it should get it off the bus, but I have no idea how to get it to
the bus. Right now I have long sustaining notes, which is cool, but
not very flexible.

Thanks,

Giles
