I use this for my cables and have had no problems with it: Shielded cable <http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=WB1500&CATID=22&keywords=&S\ PECIAL=&form=CAT&ProdCodeOnly=&Keyword1=&Keyword2=&pageNumber=&priceMin=\ &priceMax=&SUBCATID=543> It's about 3mm in diameter and is really flexible. The small diameter makes for a sloppy fit in the strain relief of the plugs but I also fit a small length of heatshrink at each end for colour coding and extra strain relief.
