There are different alternatives with different specs therefore it no surprise that results vary. ;) E.g. you can use a cheap TL072 which sounds slightly better. But: If you want a real good sound you may also try a good external preamp. I myself just changed swapped the TL062 for a TL072 and am ok with it as I process the signal anyway and rather drastically. But I also never heard any 'dullness' and my A-119 distorts only when I want it to. Can anyone make audio files were they 'dullness' or distortion of a A-119 can be heard in comparison with the original signal? The 'dullness' in an A/B comparison may be the result of one of the signals being quieter. Joachim
