> What i do is that i connect 3 of the gate outputs from the A-160 and and the A-161 to a multipple and then connect the 4:th multipple connector to the gate input on an anvelope generator. I have noticed that when i do this the leds on all connectors (on the A-160 & A-161) that are connected to the multiple light up when any of them is trigged.

No. It is possible to do this with the A161 (which enables always only 
one output at a time), but not with the A160, which enables several 
outs. The correct way for the A160 would be the A186 trigger combiner 
(or more expensive the A166 Logic module in OR mode).

Alternatively you might use also a Mixer instead.
