Of course you can do this. But why use a Envelope: much more interesting should be the Sequencer to modulate this VCA. Alternatively you might use the sequencer clock to trigger a S&H which is fed by a fast LFO. This results in a renadom like, but nevertheless regular repeating sequence. BTW: controlling the linear-FM Input with the Sequencer is not that sense-making, since this input is DC decoupled. You will have a kind off glide effect to and from the Sequencers tuning back to the standard tuning of the VCO.
