All my panels are laser-cut 2mm alu. At first I wanted to go with laser-etching as well (which looks really awesome), but that turned out to be too expensive. So now I use Quick-Laser sheets, which is a laser-printable adhesive foil of some sorts, covered with a semi-glossy laminate. It looks quite neat (sharper and denser than silk-screening), but it's a bit of PITA to apply.
