if you have a multiple channel out soundcard you can also use the 
A-119 ext. input / envleope follower to produce some kind of clock 
signal. make up a channel in ableton that sends out 16th notes of 
some short sound like a rimshot. the a 119 can do out of this a gate 
signal.
