Hi there. i like to use some times the a-155 sequencer, but i use the lfo to control the clock. There is any solution to control clock whitout a-154? how i can sync one music from ableton with doepfer? with dark link i can do that? cheers

i beieve the only way to convert midi clock (from ableton or whatever) for the 155 is the a190-1 midi/cv converter module (i don't think the a190-2 or dark link do clock, only cv & gate). the 190-1 has a built in clock divider, so you can scale the tempo to whatever you need. don't forget you also need the extra +5v power adapter. this is seperate from the 154 - the 154 adds much functionality to the 155, but it would still need the external clock from the 190-1 to sync to midi. ________________________________

if you create, in your sequencer, a pattern with a series of 16th notes, or any other note value you like, and loop them and send them to any simple midi to cv interface, the gate out of that interface can be used as clock, to sync analogue sequencers. but you loose the midi note to cv/gate function then. so you can have 'midi clock-sync' function with the A190-2. I've juste used an old trick I learned from Giorgio Moroder! Create an audio track with a serie of 16 short impulse in a bar or any numbers you would like and output this track to a separate out. take this output from soundcard and plug it straight into clock from A-155. you might need to bring down the volume of the track for best result. > The new usb module (190-3 i think) can be used to control clock? The A-190-3 is identical to the A-190-2 except it also has USB, so no, it doesn't pay attention to the MIDI tempo, only the notes themselves. Although the 16th-notes trick should still work with it. Hope that helps, Zoe.

We are working on a modular version of the MSY2 with some additional features (USB interface, several outputs with different clock dividing factors and polarity and some more). First.This can only be achieved if you have more than 2outputs on your sound card in order to route the ckick track straight into clock in A155 2. the click track can be made from a kick sound that you truncate (cut) so only the attack can be heard. like a clicky sound. 3. For this example I have created a click on every 16th notes in a bar. Than I output this track to output 3 of my soundcard. 4. I took a patch cord with a quarter inch to Doepfer size adapter and plug it into clock in of the A-155. 5. I had to bring the volume down of output 3 until I see the the A-155 running et voila! I saw this in an article in Sound on Sound mag. It was about the creation of Giorgio Moroder "I Feel Love". they've recorded a click track so they could synched the Moog sequencer to tape.
