hi florian,

i have been jonesing for a system like that too, ever since i found
out about the Emu system. it is also a very interactive environment
and highly conducive to on the fly and real time playing and
improvisation.

i own an Sh 101 as well and it is always connected to my A100. the Sh
101 sequencer is a simple and easy to operate sequencer. it is the
ideal way to develop quick ideas on the A100. once the phrase is done
off to the MPC it goes for more editing and eventually to a song
chain with other patterns. they should consider building one to go
with the A100.

you would be able to do SH 101 style sequences with the Schaltwerk,
if the Bloody thing would have a tied note function, you could chain
a whole bunch of patterns together to get phrases longer than 16
steps.

on the doepfer website forum, Chris Assal says there is 15% memory
left but continually refuses to acknowledge this fact after he has
written this statement. he says only ten people are dissatisfied with
their Schaltwerks( a bit of a pipe dream when you consider the amount
of people selling their schaltwerks(oops, i guess they got tired of
doing straight 16th note sequences)). imagine all the people who
aren`t buying it because it doesn`t have such a simple musical
function implemented. WHAT DO WE HAVE TO DO TO IMPLEMENT A FEW LINES
OF CODE TO HAVE A SIMPLE MUSICAL FUNCTION LIKE TIED NOTES.

i agree, this would help recoup the initial investment and give
doepfer a faster return on investment and also introduce midi guys to
the A100 world.
