Cool -- curious to hear how this works out if you do try it. -----Original Message----- From: ersatzplanet [mailto:james@ersatzplanet.com] Sent: Tuesday, November 05, 2002 7:20 PM To: Doepfer_a100@yahoogroups.com Subject: [Doepfer_a100] Re: modular sequencer building blocks and the proposed A154 --- In Doepfer_a100@y..., unknown freak <cgraef@n...> wrote: > In this day and age isn't there something you could run on a laptop in > conjunction with a Drehbank and an Expressionist that would simply > vaporize the pants off the Schaltwerk for comparable or not much more > money? I don't know if the cost would be comparable, but you could use MAX on a Mac with a Drehbank and it would work. I've made analog like sequencers with Max before and they work. I used on screen sliders for the note values, but the Drehbank would work much better. I have the older Max (pre-MSP) and it can be compiled to run on very old Macs (I have it doing simple things on a couple of old Apple IIci machines!). I should look into this. I don't have a Drehbank but do have a JL Cooper fademaster I could try out the concept with.
