Firstly I agree with Peter and various others earlier in the thread - 
keep it simple, so that the new module is complemented by existing 
modules, to allow greatest flexibility without becoming overly 
complicated. For example, if control of direction was a simple 
digital high=backwards/low=forwards (say) input, then adding a A160 
clock-divider into the equation will give required switching for a 
pendulum mode. Use a 163 VC Freq Divider instead gives even more fun 
possibilities - the mind just boggles (and I get the impression that 
list members are *really* taken with the idea of this possible new 
module...)

As for Dieter's info...

... that the 4051 control pins are so accessible may have sold him 
another module - might just go out and buy one to see what's possible!

P.S. for Peter:

site and couldn't find it? Is it just a mere 4 bits, or more like 8 
or 10 and your're just using the top 4?
