A-154 Step skipping

What do you mean with step skipping exactly:

1.) The address counter should skip one step, reducing the lenght of the
sequence like: 1 2 3 5 6 7 8 = 7 steps
or

2.) The address counter should give all steps, but on certain steps there
is no gate signal, like:
CV  : 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
Gate: x x x . x x . x

To my opinion the latter makes sense, but the first proposal is quite
sensless. Instead of you could use a reset function.

For the second proposal I would prefer a additional gate sequencer with
three position switches:
    up=bound (the gateout is logical YES for the whole step length)
middle=normal (Gate pulse).
  down=no gate for this step
