That's exactly what I wanted to hear. I have an A-111-5 in my rack, which is similar to the DE 1, imo. Now I can buy a Doepfer DIY-synth and complete it with the very good looking and full of features "XAOC Devices - Karl-Marx-Stadt".

It depends if you mean the Dark Enery I or II. The Dark Energy I is totally different from the DIY synth. But many parts of the Dark
Energy II are very similar to the DIY synth with only a few exceptions (like the clipped sawtooth of the Dark Energy II, two LFOs of
the Dark Energy II).
