The purism exhibited in this thread makes me chuckle Neil and Jacco. But hey, it's your loss :D
Why would Doepfer release a whole series of Serge when Elby is just about to do this?
That would not be a very smart business move in my eyes..
In case you missed it: Elby also sells ready build modules. So no soldering needed.
I own 2 of his analog shift registers and they work very nicely. And to be honest they really don't look out of place in a system that's mostly made up of Doepfer modules.
On careful inspection of link to Elby Designs you would have also noticed they will produce the resonant eq in 2 versions: one with faders and one with pots, just saying.
I am not in any way affiliated with any of the companies I linked and mentioned.
I am just a bit surprised at the stubborn purism. Part of what has made Eurorack so popular was that Doepfer made it an open format with standard components, a great way for other companies to join the fun.
But then again it's your systems...
Have fun & all the best,
Ernst

btw: I doubt there will be a big market for it, especially since the
(incredible) "Rings" by Mutable Instruments is in the market. I know it
is very different from the Serge, but it will draw a lot of potential
buyers away from an analog resonator.
