Re: AW: [Doepfer_a100] Mac updaters and editors

My workaround is to use Virtual Box. MS have various free images of their operating systems that will load directly in VB available on their developers site. These will work for up to one month at a time. When they time out you can simply reinstall the image and begin again.

Get the most recent version of Virtual Box here (http://virtualbox.org http://virtualbox.org/) If you want USB support you need to install the add-on pack as well.

Get a free Virtual Box image of Windows from the MS developers site here. (https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/tools/vms/#downloads

I used this with an image of Windows XP to run the editor for the A 192-1 (with the editor being quite long in the tooth I wasn't confident it would run well on more recent versions of Windows and I don't have the knowledge to troubleshoot legacy issues with Microsoft OSs).

Once you've got the Windows Virtual Machine running you can get Virtual Box to connect to any folder on your Mac. It shows up in Windows as a virtual drive. I use the Desktop folder for this which means that you can easily swap files between the Mac desktop and the Windows setup.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
