Hi Alexander, thanks a lot for your reply, 8ch 3 subs is a huge system
I am not surprised that it requires a huge amount of mV but warming up is not good news
Did you troubleshoot enough in order to ascertain that heat and hum are due to the great power need ?
I am not sure whether the Doepfer base case you mentioned is the low cost case or not. If yes, I have learned from this list that it must be grounded. It features a floating ground, which reads no ground link to the earth. Before providing this link on that kind of LC cases I had both hum and sound leaks throughout the system modules. As for the jacks closeness to the top border, I am afraid that it can be found in several modules and it is one of the inconvenient counterparts deriving from the small euro sizes… 
I cannot see what poti shafts means… (?)
 And what about the sound quality of the VCA’s ?
