no, I did not do a lot of troubleshooting. The modules are in a Monster Base 168TE. Two PSU-2, all original by Doepfer. Only thing I did was to replug modules into different bus boards until hum went down to an acceptable level. As soon as I moved the Master module on a bus board with hardly anything else connected it became relatively silent.
But the modules still heat up a lot. I am not an electrical engineer, but I guess the power supplies/converters on the modules are dissipating too much heat. My concern is when adding more channels or groups what might happen. But atm that is not necessary as I use two Pragas as submixers.

The PSU2 apparently is not enough, it had been replaced with the PSU3, if I properly remember
