That's great. Thanks, Florian.

The last few replies seem to have arrived out of order, as often happens on Yahoo.

FWIW, I was able to subscribe to the groups.io group I've joined already, by just visiting the page for it on their website, and pressing a button to fill in a short form.

The process isn't quite what I'm used to in forums, but then it's not a forum - it just has some of the features of one.

Initially, it just asks for your email address, and sends you a validation link. Once you've been approved for a group, you get to set a display name for that group.

So, you could belong to multiple groups, each with a different display name, or to do it the normal way, you'd just have to fill in the name you want to use, in the profile for each group. I guess joining a second or third group is best done through the website, while logged in.

That did confuse me a bit, but now I know, it seems simple enough to do.

If you log in to groups.io, it shows your email address near top right, because that's your id for the site, but it's not shown to anyone else.
