problem with a129/5

2003-01-17 by selfoscillate <synaptic_music@yahoo.com>

hello,

i have a serious problem with my a129/5 module.
no matter what signal i feed into the input,
the output is heavily distorted and far too loud,
even when the gain of the a129/5 is set to zero.
i'm 100% sure that the signal presented to the a129/5 input
is perfectly clean and undistorted.

all pots are working normal, the treble emphasizes the high
frequencies and the gain makes the signal louder,
but the output is always unusably distorted.
the voiced/unvoiced detector seems to work ok.
the only thing i can do is reducing the input signal
to near silence. then the distortion stops, but the
voiced/unvoiced decoder stops responding very well.

the a129/5 worked well for years.
do i have to replace it or is there a chance of getting it repaired?
unfortunately dieter doepfer is at the namm show,
so i'm not getting really helpful advices from doepfer.

can anyone give me a hint?

many thanks
