The basic problem is that you ... and I can now report that this method definitely doesn't work! The 'gate_pos' signal is basically based on whether the 'CV_pos' signal is greater than zero or not - thus the gate stays open for quite a while after pressure is released from the ribbon, whilst the voltage falls back to zero. Any attempt to invert the gate and sample the CV is futile because the CV is by now back to zero anyhow! Viewing the CV and gate signals on a scope and this is quite clear, even though it happens in just handfuls of milliseconds. And I found trying to use the 'gate_pres' was too clumsy - I need to press pretty hard to get that to gate at all. The ribbon controller's great, for like, 'air-guitar' - I'm sure my yound nephew is going to love it when he visits in a few weeks! Tim
