To my knowledge there are two reasons, why Doepfer stopped selling the
kits:
1.) Kits take a much higher effort in telefone support and repair than the
readymade products.
2.) In principle the manufacturer of the kit is responsible for the
problems, that are caused by the system a customer has built from the kit.
So I think, this is the killer argument against kits.
