Thanks for the response. The A-108 does look really versatile. Does 
the 4 pole output really sound different than the A-120? (I realize 
the other outputs would sound different.)

I guess since these are my first two filters and need to be 
versatile together and individually, the A-121 and A-108 would make 
a great place to start. The problem is I'm a huge prophet 5 fan so 
the A-105 is calling out to me ;-) I am also still interested to 
know if any of the many filters on the A-107 will sound close to the 
A-122 or A-123. (Not just the same slope, but same sound. Just like 
an A-102, A-105, A-120 don't sound the same even though they have 
the same slope.)

Actually, it was all the new filters that made me decide to start my 
real analog kit with Doepfer instead of MOTM. (That was a REALLY 
hard decision!) I like Doepfer's choice not to do much of what other 
modular makers have done. If I really want an MS-20 I can get a pair 
from MOTM as well as a CS80. The MOTM PS-3100 is also much closer in 
design to the original than the A-127 so that will also be a tough 
decision someday. So many filters, so little money...
