Doepfer

Maybe its because the current version of the TKB received an 
unenthusiastic response at trade shows.  I still wonder if the 
keyboard appearance might have caused confusion: it may have looked 
to many like a cheap alternative to a real keyboard.  

Maybe if it was turned into the ultimate combination of an 
interactive sequencer and voltage & trigger source it might be more 
marketable.  

Of course, I say this as somebody who has no real understanding of 
the manufacturing and marketing considerations faced by Mr. 
Doepfer.  I just know that I personally wanted something along the 
lines of the Serge TKB, but I won't can't pay the inflated prices 
now demanded by STS.  Plus, I'm certain that Mr. Doepfer and company 
could come up with a much better alternative, with lots of 
additional and useful ways of interacting with the sequencer through 
the touch plates. 

The alternative for achieving something like this would be to 
connect the proposed TKB or another keyboard to a A-154/dual 155 
combination, or to a Cyndustries Milton.  But these possibilities 
don't seem as neat and ergonomic as an all in one solution, and 
don't offer the same interaction between a running sequence and the 
touch plates.
