Hi Roel > Yes, I know the americans back then had more money to spend back then, > then Mr Doepfer in Germany now! There is a big difference between a large Moog Modular System and a Doepfer synth. The Bid Moogs were developed in the tradition of scientific measurement and testing tools. An old Moog oscillator is/was nearly as precise as an measurement oscillator from Hewlett-Packard or Rohde&Schwarz and it costed nearly the same. A Doepfer Modular System is developed dedicated as musical instrument and its limitations in preecision make it affordable as a musical instrument. We have to keep in mind, that a 6HE Rack for $1000 would cost may be $8000 if it was built like an old Moog. So: It is not the money, Doepfer has to spend now, but the money you and me would have to spend :-/ Florian -- Florian Anwander |ConSol* HP-Support Tel. +49.89.45841-133 |Consulting&Solutions Software GmbH Fax +49.89.45841-139 |Franziskanerstr. 38, D-81669 München email: florian.anwander@consol.de |http://www.consol.de
