Hi Florian,

My message was already gone. I wanted to react to another thing you said. 
Your were talking about elaborate procedings and high pressicion equipment, that would make such a octave/semioctave switch very expensive. 
Yes, I know the americans back then had more money to spend back then, then Mr Doepfer in Germany now!

There is a big difference between a large Moog Modular System and a Doepfer
synth. The Bid Moogs were developed in the tradition of scientific
measurement and testing tools. An old Moog oscillator is/was nearly as
precise as an measurement oscillator from Hewlett-Packard or Rohde&Schwarz
and it costed nearly the same.

A Doepfer Modular System is developed dedicated as musical instrument and
its limitations in preecision make it affordable as a musical instrument.
We have to keep in mind, that a 6HE Rack for $1000 would cost may be $8000
if it was built like an old Moog. 

So: It is not the money, Doepfer has to spend now, but the money you and me
would have to spend :-/
