I think it should both, perhaps you could use a switched pot at the 
Mode Manual pot. Position in is played once, position pulled out is 
played twice.

I think both are very useful, a switched pot at the Clock Manual 
position would take care of this.

Again, same thing, both are useful. A switched pot.
