This Isn't clear whether this was an oversight in design or a mistake that should be corrected.

Is this a adjustment that users can make?

Most people serious about random c/v use may want both their old one and a corrected one.
Maybe a discounted version when you buy a second 149-1 and a 149-2 when it comes out.
